This course - desktop-support technician's ability to assist users of Windows XP applications. Certification candidates should be able to both perform any common task related to Windows XP applications and help users in the organization in which they work with issues related to them. Specifically, this exam focuses on supporting users of the Microsoft Office application suite of productivity applications on which the application interfaces of many Windows XP programs are based.

Certification candidates should be able to address issues related to setting up an application for execution on Windows XP and configuring account settings, file system, and multi-user access. They will be required to resolve issues related to customizing application interfaces, the Start menu and taskbar, regional settings, fonts, and error messages.

They should be able to handle application errors resulting from network, security, or hardware problems. They should be able to help prevent, identify, and respond to network or system application security breaches. This exam tests the abilities of a help-desk technician to be able to resolve Windows XP application users' issues in a timely manner.
